GAS · Technologies

Syngas for on-site power and heat.

Installations that convert biomass and other suitable carbonaceous materials into syngas, with feeding, reaction, cooling, cleaning and process control systems.

Operating principle

Gasification

Gasification is high-temperature partial oxidation. With a controlled amount of air or another agent, the carbon in biomass converts into a combustible gas made up mainly of carbon monoxide, hydrogen and methane. Once cleaned, the gas feeds engines, boilers or burners.

How it works

The process, stage by stage

Every plant is designed around these stages. The final configuration depends on the analysis of your feedstock and the products you want to obtain.

Stage 01 / 06

Preparation

Size and moisture within gasifier specification.

Feedstocks

  • Wood chips and wood residues
  • Low-moisture shells and agro-industrial residues
  • Biomass pellets and briquettes
  • Refuse-derived fuels, subject to evaluation

Products

Syngas

Fuel for gensets, boilers, dryers and kilns.

Power and heat

Distributed generation for sites without a reliable grid or with high energy costs.

Char and ash

Solid by-product with possible uses depending on composition.

Scope of supply

From a single unit to the complete plant.

  • Biomass and energy demand assessment
  • Gasifier, feeding and ash handling
  • Gas cleaning and conditioning train
  • Integration with genset, boiler or burner
  • Automation, process safety and PyroTrack

Why this technology

01

Energy where the residue is

Local generation from own biomass: less diesel, less residue transport.

02

Stable energy cost

The fuel is the business’s own residue, not an international price.

03

Cogeneration

Electricity and useful heat from the same system.

PyroTrack

Every batch, recorded in PyroTrack

Inputs, process conditions and products are traced for operations, regulatory reporting and certification.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How clean must the gas be for an engine?

Engines require low tar and particulate levels. The cleaning train is sized to the engine and the biomass.

Does it work with any biomass?

No. Moisture, ash and particle size determine feasibility. Very wet biomass usually suits other routes better.

Gasification or carbonization?

If the main goal is energy, gasification. If it is a solid product or carbon credits, carbonization. We decide with your mass balance and market.
