Pyrolysis oil
Industrial fuel or refinery feedstock, depending on specification.
PYR · Technologies
Plants for the thermochemical processing of end-of-life tires, selected plastic streams and other compatible feedstocks. They recover liquid, gaseous and solid fractions according to material composition and process design.
Operating principle
Pyrolysis thermally decomposes organic matter in the absence of oxygen. Without combustion, polymer chains break into vapors that condense as oil, a non-condensable gas reused as process fuel, and a carbon-rich solid residue. With tires, the reinforcing steel is recovered clean.
| Atmosphere | Oxygen-free, sealed reactor |
|---|---|
| Heating | Indirect, with process gas as main fuel |
| Operation | Continuous or batch, depending on capacity |
| Products | Oil, gas, recovered carbon and steel |
How it works
Every plant is designed around these stages. The final configuration depends on the analysis of your feedstock and the products you want to obtain.
Weighing, batch registration, shredding and, if required, prior steel separation.
Continuous reactor feeding without air ingress, using lock and screw systems.
Thermal decomposition with controlled temperature and residence time to steer the yield of each fraction.
Staged vapor cooling, fraction separation and oil storage.
Scrubbing of non-condensable gas, return to the reactor burner and flue gas treatment.
Closed-loop discharge and cooling, magnetic steel separation and carbon conditioning.
Feedstocks
Products
Industrial fuel or refinery feedstock, depending on specification.
Filler for rubber, plastics, pigments or solid fuel, depending on grade.
High-quality scrap for steelmaking.
Thermal self-supply for the reactor; surplus can generate power.
Typical mass balance
Laboratory tests between 450 and 600 °C on steel-free rubber. At industrial scale yields depend on the tire and the process: a mining-tire facility in Chile reports 40% carbon black and 20% steel. Your balance is defined by characterizing your feedstock.

Scope of supply
Why this technology
A documented recovery route for the tire management schemes required by extended producer responsibility laws.
Each fraction has a market: revenue depends on product quality and consistency, not just volume.
Process gas covers most of the reactor heat once at steady state.
PyroTrack
Inputs, process conditions and products are traced for operations, regulatory reporting and certification.
FAQ
It is sized to the available feedstock volume and business model. We work from modules for a single generator or manager to continuous lines for regional management schemes.
No. Polyolefins are the most suitable. PVC and PET require specific evaluation because they affect oil quality and equipment corrosion.
The process is closed: non-condensable gas is scrubbed and burned as fuel, and flue gases are treated before the stack. Design follows the emissions standard of the project country.
